Since 1954, when Erich SCHAMSCHULA was one day stupefied by his sudden encounter with a piece of work in " pâte de cristal " by François Décorchemont, he has never ceased to create, to invent, to perfect the utilization of this magnificent material. Forty years later, his ideas continue to burst forth; dozens of pieces form in his mind before taking shape, the colours of the oxides disperse in varied and remarkable ways. The finished works are artistically and technically perfect and in these last years Erich's creations have become of an even stronger force. The dark years of dispair, so long ago, are now forgotten; the creative genius of this eternally young man is entirely optimistic ...
